2015: PDP North West expresses support for Jonathan



Some members of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party, PDP from the North-West zone have expressed their confidence in and total support of the leadership of President Goodluck Jonathan.
The PDP stakeholders, comprising members from the National Working Committee of the Party, State and Zonal executive committees, party elders, legislators and members of state and federal executives, from Kano, Zamfara and Sokoto States, made this declaration in a press release after they paid a courtesy call on the Vice President, Namadi Sambo on Thursday at the Hassan Usman Katsina House, Kaduna.
The stakeholders said they were in Kaduna to felicitate with Mr. Sambo on the occasion of the New Year and to brief him on the political situation in their various states. They expressed their willingness to further develop more strategies and tactics so as to forge a common front to ensure peaceful political activities and compliance to due process.
The statement, which was read by Aminu Wali from Kano State, said the party leaders had confidence in the leadership of President Jonathan, and declared their support for his administration.
They also reiterated their total support and loyalty to the PDP and the National Working Committee, NWC, of the party.
According to Mr. Wali, members of the PDP in the north west had also agreed to work assiduously to promote peace and unity among members of the party and ensure the sustainable growth of the party in their states as well as its success in future elections.
“We call on our teeming supporters to remain calm and focused and to continue to work for the greatest party in Africa, which is the party to beat,” he said.
The delegation included the deputy governor of Sokoto State, Mukhtar Shagari, former governors, lawmakers, and other.
The vice president thanked the delegation for the visit and urged them to sustain the tempo in ensuring that the party waxes stronger in the zone.
