Police arrest pilgrim’s board ex-vice chairman over murder

Former Vice-chairman of the State Pilgrims Welfare Board (Muslim wing), Alhaji Abass Oloko was yesterday arrested and interrogated by  the Oyo State Police Command for alleged involvement in the murder of a guard of the ex-Secretary to the State Government, Mr. Ayodele Adigun some weeks ago.
Oloko had been relieved of his vice-chairmanship position over confrontation with the Chairman of the board.
Saturday Vanguard gathered that he was arrested at his residence in Ibadan.
The Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Olabisi Ilobanafor has confirmed his arrest.
The night guard of the former state scribe was killed by yet-to-be identified gunmen who invaded Adigun’s residence on Tuesday March 26, 2013.
The policemen were said to have laid an ambush for him in the house.
After his arrest, he was said to have been whisked away to the state Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for interrogation.
According to Ilobanafor, Oloko was being  interrogated over the murder of Adigun’s guard.
“We are interrogating him and if he is found culpable, your guess is as good as mine: he will face the music and be charged to court.
He is currently undergoing interrogation and it is the outcome of the interrogation that will determine his culpability or otherwise and whether he will still be detained or not”.
