LASG to develop more wildlife parks

Mr Ashamu Fadipe, the Permanent Secretary,  Lagos State Ministry of Tourism and Intergovernmental Relations, says the state government will soon develop more wildlife parks.
Fadipe told reporters on Tuesday in Lagos that the location of the parks was being looked into.
“To develop parks of high magnitude, particularly on the island, we need a lot of research work, particularly on the eco-system.
“You cannot bring an animal into a place that is not conducive, so researchers are working on it presently and as soon as that is done the projects will take off,’’ he said.
Fadipe added that state government had also resolved to complete the Tenkunle Island Wildlife Park in Lekki.
“The government needs to finish the Tenkunle Island Wildlife Park in no distance time,’’ he said.
He said that the park would consist of gorillas, tigers, monkeys, elephants and other animals.
He added that the ministry was discussing with some South African experts on how the animals would be transported to Lagos.
