The ailing governor of Taraba State, Danbaba Suntai, who sustained brain injuries in a plane mishap in October, 2012 is currently receiving medical treatment at John Hopskin Hospital situated at 2715 North Charles Street, Baltimore, USA.
The news of Mr. Suntai’s transfer to the U.S. from Germany had been reported but no medium could ascertain the particular hospital where the governor was taken to in the U.S.
It was gathered that the ailing governor has been in the Intensive Care Unit of the American hospital since he arrived in the country.
Mr. Suntai arrived the hospital with his team of medical doctors from both Nigeria and Germany.
In a telephone chat with our correspondent, a staff of the hospital stated that the Taraba State Governor was brought down to the hospital under a critical health condition.
The staff, who was reached via telephone number +14105166900, confirmed that the governor truly has brain injury as reported by some newspapers.
He noted that Mr. Suntai is currently in a stable condition as a result of the intensive care he is receiving.
The Governor, the source said, cannot talk or recognize anyone because of his present condition. He however noted that every effort is being put in place to ensure that the governor’s health is brought back to normal.
The source said a medical team in the American hospital has diagnosed some other serious sicknesses in the governor during a full-body examination conducted on him.
“We had seen more critical cases in the past and they were still brought under control so I can assure you that the patient you are asking about will soon regain his consciousness because we have the best medical team here that has taken over his case since he was brought down,” the staff, who declined to mention his name, said.
Mr. Suntai was flown to a German hospital for medical attention in an air ambulance last October after his involvement in a plane crash in Adamawa which left him and five other passengers on the private jet injured.
