CRISIS rocking the ruling Peoples Democratic Party, PDF, yesterday, took a new turn as the official secretariat of the Alhaji Kawu Baraje-led new PDF located on Plot 3206A, Number 4, Oyi River Crescent, off Babangida Way, Maitama has been marked for demolition by the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory Administration, FCTA, Senator Bala Mohammed.
Vanguard gathered that Bala Mohammed has ordered the Development Control of the Federal Capital Development Authority, FCDA, to carry out the exercise.
The agency thereafter marked it on October 11, 201 3 as a notice to new PDP that the action would be carried out.
The latest development is coming forty-four days after heavily armed policemen put the secretariat under lock and key, on Saturday, September 7.
During a visit to the secretariat yesterday, the storey building was marked for demolition with red ink by the development control with the following inscription: Demolition by DC October 11, 2013 with bold red ink.

Meanwhile, the Armoured Personnel Carrier, APC, earlier stationed in front of the River Oyi Crescent office of Baraje-led new PDP has been moved and the Police monitoring vehicle near the entrance at the National Lottery Building adjacent to the new PDP building has been removed as well. Only an anti riot police man was seen there maintaining what could be described as skeletal security within the area.
Besides the new PDP secretariat that has been marked for demolition, an event centre, A-Park Gardens owned by Senator Aisha Alhassan, Taraba North located near the OAU Quarters in Maitama District in Abuja, has also been marked for demolition. Senator Alhassan is a loyal member of the new PDP.
It was gathered that development control has served her a demolition notice on the excuse that the government wants to use the land as part of monorail for public transportation, even as Senator Al Hassan explained that she was given the permission to build the event centre, adding that she would drag the FCTA to court.
Meanwhile, following report that the new PDP has agreed to respect the judgment of the Federal High Court Abuja which recognised the Alhaji Bamanga Tukur-led National Working Committee, NWC, as the authentic PDP, the FCTA immediately unsealed the Adamawa State Government’s lodge located on number 12, Gurara Street, off Yedseram Street, Maitama District, Abuja.
It will be recalled that the FCTA minister penultimate week ordered that the Adamawa State Government’s Lodge which was the operational base of the new PDP be sealed on the grounds that the new PDP was using the lodge for political activities as against its original purpose of being used strictly for residential purpose.
The FCTA administration which explained that it was illegal for the building to be converted into a political party office, also extended the plot of the governor of Kano State, Alhaji Rabiu Kwankwaso, member of the new PDP into a green area.
During a visit to the Adamawa State Government Lodge at Gurara Street, yesterday, the private security men at the gate said that the Policemen drafted to seal the lodge had stopped coming since last week, even as they could not give answers as to why the Police stopped coming to the lodge.
