Boko Haram: Group denies Kogi varsity don, absolves PDP guber aspirant

AS the Supreme Court delivers judgment on the actual candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the 2011 governorship election in Kogi state, on November 25th, the Jibrin Isah Campaign Organization has denied the alleged link of one of the contenders to the governorship candidate ticket with Boko Haram.
There have been alleged campaign of blackmail and calumny against Alhaji Jibrin  Isah, who had taken his case to the Supreme Court for determination of the governorship candidate of the PDP in Kogi State that the Boko Haram suspect, Dr. Muhammad Nazeef Yunus lecturer in the Department of Islamic Studies in Kogi State University also teaches in an Islamic school owned by him.
But reacting to the allegation yesterday, the Jibrin Isah Campaign Organization stated that Alhaji Isah neither had anything to do with the Boko Haram suspect nor has any Islamic school where the suspect teaches, alleging that it was a campaign of blackmail following the forthcoming judgment on the real candidate of the PDP in the last governorship election in Kogi State.
In a statement titled “Stop this blackmail of the judiciary,” the group stated, “ Our attention has been drawn to media reports linking a private business concern of our principal, The Isah Memorial College Ajiolo with an alleged Boko Haram suspect as well as coordinated campaigns in both electronic and print media aimed at tarnishing the reputation of our  principal, Alhaji Jibrin Isah (Echocho) orchestrated by some desperate politicians who are doomed to fail.
“As a responsible organization, and conscious of the fact that we have a pending constitutional and jurisprudential issue before the esteemed Justices of the Supreme Court, we had earlier opted to keep mute, knowing that only fools would continue to hit their heads against the wall even after being told that they have come to the end of the road.
“However, it has become absolutely necessary for us to speak up, in view of the desperation and brazen impunity with which some of the characters associated with the said agents of our political opponents have carried on with the mission to “destroy at all cost” the character, person and reputation of Alhaji Jibrin  Isah, who remains the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kogi State.”
